It’s within easy reach of places like Pinner, Mill Hill and Stanmore. What are the facilities like at St Margaret’s?
St Margarets hall is big, big enough to have a Supersize party with 8 jeeps. In fact, if we get creative and use some of the gym benches we can even do a 10 Jeep children’s driving party here. With one of our standard tracks (4 to 6 Jeeps), there’s oodles of room, and St Margarets also have some bouncy castles and slides to add to the mix.
It’s not always available for one off venue hires, especially during the exam season, but we seem to be here with our Jeeps very regularly.
What’s not so good about the venue?
Sadly, there are a few downsides to this venue that we feel we need to point out.
– Loading is rubbish! While there are fire doors which can be used for loading, they are round the back and directly inaccessible by van. So to load, we have to come in via the main entrance – which can be a bit inconvenient if partygoers are also using the same egress and exit.
– Whilst there is a large car park, there is no provision for loading vehicles. Nearly every time we have been there people have parked on the bend and not the marked bays. This makes manoeuvring a large vehicle challenging – but we’re always up for a challenge!
– Lastly, the acoustics are not great (understatement). The design of the roof bounces the sound directly back, making it very hard to hear. In fact, it’s the 2nd worst venue for acoustics that we know of! But we know it’s an issue so work around it. For the driver’s briefing we request that all parents stop talking, we switch off our blower, and ask that any bouncy castle blowers are switched off until we’ve finished imparting the important information. Then the magical mayhem begins!
