If you’re looking for a venue for your kids party – especially a go karting or Jeep driving party, then we’d recommend considering the Court Gardens Sports Centre in Pound Lane, Marlow.
It’s not a perfect venue by any means, but we have held many successful kids driving parties here.
What’s good about the venue:
The hall is a very good size, one of our tracks fits lengthways with oodles of space to the side. Although it’s possible to fit a bouncy castle down the side too, we wouldn’t recommend it – due to the noise.
There are separate rooms upstairs for the birthday tea, a bit of a march, but all perfectly doable. There’s also plenty of parking outside – but the caveat is that it’s a pay and display car park, and at times can be quite busy.
Location wise it’s brilliant though – right at the end of Marlow High Street, with views of the bridge and the river – so really easy to reach from outlying villages.
What’s not so good?
As above – you have to pay to park. Loading is a problem, as not only is the hall a bit of a distance from the closest place to park, but there are quite a few doors to negotiate, plus a wall – as it’s on a different level. But in the main – those are our issues not yours.
What’s really not good?
The acoustics. They are really not good. Like 1 out of 10 not good. Our blower doesn’t help (so another in the form of a bouncy castle is defo a no no). When we do the drivers briefing we switch our fan off and ask the parents to stop talking for a minute or two – or else the kids just can’t hear as voices ricochet off the walls and are amplified to make a mess of sound. Trying to give direction during the party is very very difficult – so we have to repeat and repeat and repeat. We don’t recommend a party solely of boys at this venue – purely because of the noise. Girls seem to have a calming influence! However, if you accept that it won’t be quite like an ordinary Wacky Wheelers party, and is likely to descend into glorious chaos (but the party goers still have lorry loads of fun) then we say – why not?
